It is a major BSA objective that all young persons, whatever their ethnic or social background, should be able to fulfil their talent and desire to succeed in the film industry.
Therefore student financial support is channelled through the fee top-up system and our commitment to Scholarships and Bursaries. We have set aside substantial sums for this purpose and are actively pursuing fresh national funding opportunities.
For instance, Bournemouth Media School has recently been awarded Skillset Bursaries for its screenwriting degree courses. BMS is unique in the UK in having three programmes, all of degree level, Skillset Accredited. As a result, a number of our screenwriting students have 90% of fees paid and a contribution to annual living expenses. The sums coming into the course through bursaries and course development projects total almost £¼m over three years.
If you would like to discuss the financial assistance that may be available to yourself or family member as a student, in the first instance please contact us either through the website form or directly.
